As winter has begun and we have the threat of snowstorms, we have a few guidelines for church services and possible cancellations. If the town of Portsmouth has issued a parking ban, we will not have service. If there are other times you feel it is not safe to go out, please stay safe. Sermons will be posted online in the following days. If for some other reason service is cancelled, we will reach out to let the congregation know. Thank you.
Welcome to Portsmouth Friends Church
The Portsmouth Friends Meetinghouse, Parsonage, and Cemetery (also known as Portsmouth Friends Meeting House or Portsmouth Friends Church) is a historic Friends Meeting House and cemetery of the Religious Society of Friends, at 11 Middle Road and 2232 E. Main Road in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
The church reopened in 2020 after a long legal battle over ownership of the building. Its faithful members regained control of the church and have kept the church going, which is currently holding service on Sundays at 10:30 AM. All are welcome to come join us for service and experience the awe and wonder of worshiping God in one of the oldest churches in all of Rhode Island.
